Bilal Associates (Pvt) Ltd. and its group Companies (Bilal) are the largest stakeholders of Container Ports in Pakistan with our stakes in 6 Containers Ports (1 Sea Ports including Deep Sea Port formally known as South Asia Pakistan Terminals (SAPT); and 5 Dry Ports namely Bay West, Sky, Bahria Transshipment Hub and PICT ICD near Karachi Port and Supreme Terminals at Port Qasim. Supreme and Sky are also the largest Off Dock / Dry Port / Container Terminals in the country.
The group has significant interests are in Ports, Shipping, Logistics, Freight Trains, Oil and Gas, Automotive, Hospitality and Regional Trade. We are one of the oldest companies who have been performing transit logistics operations in Central Asia (Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan) via Pakistan for our global customers connecting Central Asia with the world through Pakistan via Road and Rail.
We are the Joint Venture partner with Hutchinson Port Holdings Limited (the Hong Kong based global leader in the container terminals industry) in the establishment of South Asia Pakistan Terminals Limited (SAPT). SAPT is a green field project of over USD 1 billion capital layout. The SAPT project involves the construction, management and operation of a 3.1 million TEUs container terminal currently being operated at Karachi Port.
The group recently obtained a concession for operating Bahria Transshipment Hub from Bahria Foundation. Its an off-dock terminal owned by Bahria Foundation where operating rights have been obtained by us. It’s situated near Karachi Port.
Bilal also operate and represent multiple global shipping lines mainly handling containers and ISO tanks. We also operate multiple bulk / chemical handling facilities for Lotte Chemicals and many large industrial customers in Pakistan.
We are the local JV partners of ICTSI, a Philippine based container port operator. We jointly with ICTSI held a concession of container port at Karachi Port that ended recently. The port was formally known as Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT).
In 2018, Bilal also participated in running the first Container Train service from Lanzhou, China to various destination in Pakistan through Sust Border under CPEC. Sust Border is the border on northern that Pakistan shares with China.
The group has also commenced development of the largest LPG Storage facility in the country. The group with its partners envisaged to establish storage facilities of more than 30,000 MT which would be the largest in Pakistan.
The group also operate multiple petroleum / energy outlets and logistics services across Pakistan and have been handling hazardous cargo for many decades.
We were also the Joint venture partner of American President Lines (APL) in Logistics, Transportation and Warehousing in Afghanistan and Central Asia.
For our commendable performances in the industry, we have received numerous awards from our customers and various trade bodies. Most significantly, we are the recipient of the 1st FPCCI Achievement Award for the year 2012 on outstanding services in Ports, Shipping, Logistics, Freight Forwarding and Multimodal. The award was presented by the President of Pakistan for our outstanding performance on behalf of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
Similarly, in June 2013, FPCCI again presented Bilal Associates the 1st FPCCI Achievement gold medal award in the field of logistics services. The award was presented by Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. Many other awards and recognitions have been received by us from our global customers including US Military and ISAF nations to whom we have been providing value added services for many decades.
